Shihan Dr. Jeffrey Henderson, Kenren, holds a 6th Dan Black Belt degree
in Bubishido and is the Worldwide Chief Technical Director and Founder
of The International Budo Institute. He has also studied both Aikido and Kendo. Dr. Henderson is presently located in Montreal, Quebec.

Shihan Henderson has taught hundreds of students since becoming a
Sensei. He began his martial arts career in 1982 and was awarded his
Sho-Dan, 1st degree black belt from
So Shihan Masayuki Hisataka, 9th Dan, of the world combined headquarters of Shorinjiryu in Tokyo, Japan. Shihan Henderson studied Shorinjiryu and Koshiki Karatedo for 23 years under Shinan Wayne Donivan, 8th Dan, of Kentokukan and was awarded Go-dan level, 5th dan. Shihan Henderson was also assistant coach to the Canadian Koshiki Karate Team for the World Koshiki Championships in Lisbon in 2003. Shihan Henderson is also a member of the Shorinjiryu Shinzen Kyokai Organization and is also a member of the prestigious Kokusai Budoin in Tokyo, Japan, an international federation for the advancement of traditional Japanese martial arts restricted to balck belt holders of 4th dan and above. Shihan Henderson is also a Member of the Diplomatic Society of St. Gabriel.
Academically, Dr. Henderson holds an undergraduate degree with distinction in Commerce (B.Comm.) from McGill University. Dr. Henderson also holds an International Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) and Doctorandus Degree (Drs.) from Nijenrode Universiteit in The Netherlands. He also holds a Doctor of Political Economy from SMC University as well as a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies from ITTL-Doctoral Research Center. Dr. Henderson has also been awarded an Honorary Doctorate, D. Hon. Ex., (Honoris Causa) from the European Quality Accreditation Commission.
Dr. Henderson has also been a lecturer for real estate finance within the Faculty of Management at McGill University as well as a guest lecturer for Corporate Social Responsibility at the European School of Management and the University of Monaco. Dr. Henderson holds the position of Adjunct Professor at the Grenoble Graduate Business School as well as Chair of Global Business Studies and Senior Research Fellow at the Institute For Transformative Thought and Learning Doctoral Research Center. Dr. Henderson is a chartered memeber of the Canadian Institute of Management where he holds the title of P.Mgr., professional manager, and he is also a chartered member of The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in the United Kingdom. Over the last 20 years, Dr. Henderson has held senior management and
Vice President positions within the commercial real estate industry for
such notable internationally operating companies as: Marathon Realty
Co. Ltd., Reichmann International, Brookfield Properties Ltd., Kolter
Properties and KPMG Canada LLP. His latest position held was that of Vice President of Portfolio Management at Bentall Capital, a commercial real estate asset management company with over $20 billion under management throughout North America and China.
