Shihan Darren Hunter, Tashi, holds a 4th degree black belt in Bubishido and currently is the Technical Director for Ontario, Canada.
Shihan Hunter is a fully licensed Instructor of the International Budo Institute and is currently nominated to complete the 5th degree
black belt exam in 2008. Shihan Hunter also holds a 4th degree black belt in full contact Shorinjiryu Karatedo. He presently teaches Karate, Jujutsu and Judo classes at the Reality Combat Fitness Club, Shuyokan Dojo (school of hard training), in Newmarket, Ontario with over 40 students under his guidance.

Shihan Hunter has trained extensively in the Japanese arts of Karatedo, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Kenjutsu. Shihan Hunter has also trained in the
Chinese art of Shuai Chiao and has been exposed to fighting techniques
of the Chinese fighting system of the Wu Jing (People's Republic of
China's Special Military Police).
Shihan Hunter began his study of Budo in 1989 under Shihan Wayne Donivan, 8th Dan from whom he was awarded the Shodan degree. He has also studied Judo under Shihan Hiroshi Nakamura 8th dan Kodokan Judo, Shidokan Dojo in Montreal. Shihan Hunter has taught a wide range of students, and continues to pass on the vast knowledge he has acquired over his years of training.
Academically, Shihan Hunter has completed courses in Criminology at the University of Calgary. He has been First Aid/CPR qualified since 1986. In addition, he has completed many courses with honors, within the Security and Hotel field. He has also received a special commendation from Marriott Hotels International, for his Security planning and management during the G8 Summit of 2002 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
