Shihan Max Mastrocola (L) and Shihan Henderson (R) congratulate Shihan Griffin (C) on being awarded 6th Dan.

It is with great pleasure that The International Budo Institute brings to the attention of its visitors the news of Shihan Jim Griffin of Australian Shorinjiryu being awarded 6th Dan. Shihan Griffin was heard to say that the promotion in rank came as a great surprise and that he didn't expect it to happen for some time. The ceremony was conducted during the opening of the 20th Anniversary Shizen Kyokai tournament in Queens, New York.

Shihan Griffin is the head of the Australian contingent who were all great guest and strong competitors at the 20th Anniversary Shizen Kyokai tournament. Please join the International Budo Institute in congratulating Shihan Griffin of Australian Shorinjiryu on his accomplishment.
